I once went to a church to preach and was told that I couldn't enter the auditorium with my shoes on because it was against their doctrine. I asked if there was anything else they wanted me to remove and said that I would gladly remove it. As long as I was given the opportunity to preach the gospel and win souls, nothing was too much for me to let go of. The pastor of the church, who is now a pastor in RCCG, was amazed.
Soul winning matters a lot to God, and it is important that you go all out to win souls. By going all out, I mean going all out in line with God's word. Unfortunately, some Christians think that engaging in sinful acts with unbelievers is a way to win souls to Christ; this is a lie from the pit of hell. You cannot walk along the path of sin under the guise of preaching the gospel and expect God to accept what you have done. You must do things God's way.
When Paul stated that he became all things to all men that he might save them, he meant that he sacrificed his comfort and many other things to reach out to different kinds of people. He was willing to let go of his status, influence, and comfort to tell others about Jesus. In 2 Corinthians 11:23-33, he shared some of the things he sacrificed and suffered for the sake of the gospel. He was beaten with rods in some cities, shipwrecked on different occasions, and stoned in other places. His ultimate goal was to bring men into God's kingdom, and he was willing to do anything, so long as it wouldn't be a sin, to achieve this.
These days, some so-called evangelists dress, speak, and act like unbelievers, claiming that it is because they want to convert them. However, when you dig deeper, you will realise they are the ones who have been converted. When a light bulb is covered with dirt and cobwebs, it will no longer be bright. Likewise, sin hinders a believer's witness for Christ and makes him or her an ineffective soul winner.
Beloved, God has given you a mandate to win souls, and you must sacrifice comfort and many other things to fulfil this mandate. However, your obedience to God's word is not one of the things you should sacrifice. I pray that God's grace will help you become an effective soul winner, in Jesus' name.
