Message

The world we live in is increasingly becoming darker spiritually and morally. In the midst of this darkness, God has called His children to be lights. Jesus said, "Ye are the light of the world." A light is meant to be seen; it is meant to provide direction and to dispel darkness.

Being a light means that your lifestyle should reflect the character of Christ. It means being honest in a world of corruption, being kind in a world of hatred, and being pure in a world of immorality. People should look at you and see something different. Your presence in any environment should bring a sense of peace and hope.

You don't have to be a preacher to be a light. You can be a light in your office by your integrity and hard work. You can be a light in your school by your excellence and godly conduct. You can be a light in your neighborhood by your love and compassion. Your light shines brightest when you do good works that bring glory to your Father in heaven.

Don't hide your light. Don't be afraid to stand for what is right, even if you are standing alone. The darker the night, the brighter a small light shines. As you shine your light, you will lead others out of darkness and into the marvelous light of God.

King James Version

Matthew 5:13-16

RCCG Hymn

All hail the pow'r of Jesus' name!

  1. All hail the pow'r of Jesus' name!
    Let angels prostrate fall;
    Bring forth the royal diadem,
    And crown Him Lord of all.
  2. Crown Him, ye martyrs of our God,
    Who from His altar call;
    Extol the stem of Jesse's rod,
    And crown Him Lord of all.
  3. Ye chosen seed of Israel's race,
    A remnant weak and small,
    Hail Him who saves you by His grace.
    And crown Him Lord of all.
    Heav'n is hll'd with joyful noises
    How delightful their worship.
  4. f Let us join with the heav'nly throng,
    Ye Gentile sinners, ne'er forget
    The wormwood and the gall;
    Go, spread your trophies at His feet.
    And crown Him Lord of all.
  5. Let every kindred, every tribe.
    On this terrestrial ball.
    To Him all majesty ascribe.
    And crown Him Lord of all.
  6. O that with yonder sacred throng
    We at His feet may fall.
    Join in the everlasting song,
    And crown Him Lord of all.
