One of the greatest things you can enjoy as a child of God is His guidance. When God guides you, you will not make mistakes, and you will not walk into the traps of the enemy. Psalm 23:1-3 says that because the Lord is our Shepherd, He leads us beside the still waters and restores our souls.
In today's Bible reading, we see how God guided the Israelites during their journey through the wilderness. He went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light. They didn't have to guess the way; they just followed God's guidance.
God still guides His children today through His Word and His Spirit. Psalm 119:105 says, "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path." When you study and meditate on God's Word, He will show you the way to go. The Holy Spirit also speaks to our hearts and gives us directions on what to do and where to go.
To enjoy God's guidance, you must be willing to be led. Many people want God to guide them, but they are not ready to follow His instructions. You must also be humble enough to acknowledge that you don't know the way on your own. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, "Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths."
I pray for you today; in every area of your life where you need direction, the Almighty God will guide you, in Jesus' name. You will not walk in darkness, and your path will be as the shining light that shines more and more unto the perfect day.
