THE POWER OF GRATITUDE

Memorise:
In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. .. 1 Thessalonians 5:18

Read:
Psalm 103:1-5

Message

Gratitude is a powerful spiritual force that opens the doors to more blessings. It is the act of acknowledging God as the source of everything good in your life. A grateful heart is a magnet for miracles. When you thank God for what He has already done, you are telling Him that you trust Him for what He is yet to do.

Many people are so focused on what they don't have that they forget to thank God for what they do have. They complain about their problems and overlook their many blessings. But the Bible tells us that in everything we should give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning us. Gratitude shifts your focus from your lack to God's abundance.

Gratitude also keeps you humble. It reminds you that you are not self-made; you are God-made. It protects you from the sin of pride, which often comes with success. When you recognize that every good and perfect gift comes from above, you will always be quick to return the glory to God.

Even in difficult times, there is always something to be thankful for. You can thank God for the gift of life, for His presence with you in the fire, and for the strength He gives you to endure. As you cultivate a lifestyle of gratitude, you will find that your joy increases and your burdens feel lighter.

RCCG Hymn

In Christ Alone

  1. In Christ alone my hope is found
He is my light, my strength, my song
    This Cornerstone, this solid ground
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm
What heights of love, what depths of peace
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease
My Comforter, my All in All
Here in the love of Christ I stand
  2. In Christ alone, who took on flesh
Fullness of God in helpless Babe
This gift of love and righteousness
Scomed by the ones He came to save
'Til on that cross as Jesus died
The wrath of God was satisfied
For every sin on Him was laid
Here in the death of Christ I live, I live
  3. There in the ground His body lay
Light of the world by darkness slain
Then bursting forth in glorious Day
Up from the grave He rose again
And as He stands in victory
Sin's curse has lost its grip on me
For I am His and He is mine
Bought with the precious blood of Christ
  4. No guilt in life, no fear in death
This is the power of Christ in me
From a life's first cry to final breath
    Jesus commands my destiny
No power of hell, no scheme of man
Could ever pluck me from His hand
'Til He retums or calls me home
Here in the power of Christ I stand
