SIN IS A REPROACH

Memorise:
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. .. Romans 6:23

Read:
John 5:1-15; Romans 6:23

Message

In today's Bible reading, Jesus healed a man who had been sick for 38 years. In today's Bible reading, Jesus healed a man who had been sick for 38 years. Shortly after that, He found him in the temple and warned him to stay away from sin, or a worse illness would again come to him. Jesus' warning shows us that sin causes sickness and reproach, and sin brings us to a place of darkness and reproach. If a person sins and does not repent, forces of darkness will tell him that such a fellow will be paid for his sins, and that payment is death.

Sin always hinders people from receiving their miracles, and there is always a need to take the sins that have blocked their miracles to God's blessings away so that they can be opened. The paralysed man's sins hindered him. The man's sins hindered him. The man's sins hindered him. It was through sin that he went into the pool. It was through sin that he went into the pool. It was through sin that he went into the pool. The man had a house when Jesus met him, and Jesus made the background red. He went back to the pool to get a miracle, and the background red, and the man had nowhere to lay his head. Jesus knew the man was desperate and could not get a miracle. Jesus saw that, and Jesus told him that he must not sin again.

Beloved, sin is always a reproach; it brings shame and death. Righteousness, however, attracts God's upliftment (Proverbs 14:34). God wants you to live a life that glorifies Him. God is willing to give you a brand-new start when you turn to Him. Don't let your sins keep you from enjoying God's help; confess them and repent of them today, and your heavenly Father will remove everything that represents a reproach in your life (1 John 1:9).

Hymn:
Yield Not To Temptation

Key Point:
Sin can stop God's light from shining upon you and block His blessings flowing into your life.

RCCG Hymn

Yield not to temptation

  1. Yield not to temptation.
    For yielding is sin;
    Each victory will help you
    Some other to win;
    Fight manfully onward.
    Dark passions subdue;
    Look ever to Jesus,
    He'll carry you through.

  2. Ask the Saviour to help you
    Comfort, strengthen, and keep you;
    He is willing to aid you,
    He will carry you through.

  3. Shun evil companions.
    Bad language disdain;
    God's name hold in reverence,
    Nor take it in vain;
    Be thoughtful and earnest,
    Kindhearted and true;
    Look ever to Jesus,
    He'll carry you through.
  4. To him that o'ercometh,
    God giveth a crown;
    Thro' faith we will conquer.
    Though often cast down;
    He who is our Saviour,
    Our strength will renew;
    Look ever to Jesus,
    He'll carry you through.
